Hey, I worship my cats *because* they're the devil's companions. They don't try very hard to keep it a secret, either.
Caution, there's a bit in the video where Australian aborigines hunt feral cats for supper.
Please -
* Adopt a stray cat. Not too many, though. It creates a health hazard, and many jurisdictions have laws limiting the number of cats you can keep (I believe there's a limit of 3 around here).
* Have 'em spayed or neutered.
* If possible, keep 'em inside to protect other species. If you can't, please have them de-clawed. It won't keep them from hunting, but it'll cut down on their success level. I don't care for that solution because it also hinders their ability to defend themselves from other cats and dogs. I keep my cats inside. As you'll learn in this documentary, putting a bell on your cat has zero affect on their hunting success.
* Keeping them inside also protects them from disease. Feline leukemia is a common risk and inevitably fatal.
* Don't feed them people food. It isn't good for them. Most cats are perfectly happy with dry food if you're consistent. Good quality dry food will keep them fit and long-lived. If you need to change their food, do it gradually.

The "charged water" scam artists move the goalposts every time Randi tries to come up with a way to find out whether they can distinguish "charged" water from normal water. In the end, he's told there's no way to tell.

More of James Randi - on Russian psychics.
This one shows how scientists can be fooled when investigating psychics. Randi shows that when appropriate controls are introduced (like making sure that the folks measuring the subject's responses didn't know what the "psychic" was trying to influence), the results match what is expected by random chance.
Watch this whole series (all of them seem to be present on YouTube).

James Randi on astrology.
It is interesting that the palm reader seemed to believe in what he was doing, but completely failed to recognize how generic his readings were and how he was making guesses based on the appearance of the mark.
Randi talks a bit about our brains' pattern recognition capabilities and how we often see patterns where they don't exist. I've often thought of this as a survival technique: it is better to see patterns where they don't exist than to *not* see patterns where they do (e.g. the spotted pattern of a leopard among the trees). Unfortunately, this talent may be exactly what causes folks to believe in all kinds of hooey.

As nightwind pointed out below, this is no surprise really. You'd be really crazy to use the typical language random number generator in just about any language, including Java, for any task that requires true randomness (e.g. generating encryption keys). But they're just fine for routine tasks. The random number generators that come with many JCE providers (e.g. Sun's or Bouncy Castle's) are much better. As far as I know, *no* pure software random number implementation is going to be perfect.

I think it is pretty clear by now where polygamy is practiced, so is this kind of abuse. Here in Utah, the practice continues with the implicit approval of our state legislature and law enforcement. Yep, you'll find plenty of apologists for polygamy right in our state capitol.
It disgusts me.
